Kaiserlodge
Nestled at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range, Kaiserlodge is anything but a conventional hotel. Here, hospitality is reimagined through an innovative concept that combines the privacy of a luxury apartment with the comforts and services of a premium hotel. Across 44 individually designed apartments and suites – 14 of which offer direct access to a private natural swimming lake – couples, friends and families enjoy the feeling of a stylish home away from home, paired with complete freedom and flexibility. The unique vision behind Kaiserlodge comes from host Barbara Winkler, her son Michael Landlinger-Weilbold and his partner Evelyn Adelsberger. At the heart of their philosophy lies one guiding principle: giving guests the freedom to shape their holiday exactly as they wish. This philosophy extends to every aspect of the stay. Dining options range from à-la-carte experiences and self-catering to the hotel’s signature “pot dishes”, which can be conveniently ordered and enjoyed in the privacy of the apartment. The activity programme is equally diverse, offering everything from guided hikes and outdoor adventures to forest bathing and mindful nature experiences. Since 6 June 2025, Kaiserlodge has added another highlight to its offering: the new Natürlich.Spa. Designed as a sanctuary immersed in nature, it features a sunset pool, bio sauna and yoga loft, creating the ideal setting for deep relaxation and restorative moments. A stay at Kaiserlodge is more than a holiday—it is a lifestyle centred around freedom, wellbeing and the beauty of the Alps.
Themes and research topics
- Ohhhmmmmm on a SUP: The Wilder Kaiser massif ahead, crystal-clear mountain air all around and the waters of Lake Hintersteiner See beneath your board: yoga on a stand-up paddleboard becomes a truly unique experience where movement, mindfulness and nature come together in one of Austria’s most spectacular settings.
- From Excavated Earth to Design Inspiration: When the new Natürlich.Spa was built, a particular shade of earth uncovered during construction caught the attention of hosts Barbara Winkler and Evelyn Adelsberger. What began as a simple discovery evolved into the defining colour concept of the spa—so inspiring that it later became their colour reference during a visit to the renowned Maison & Objet design fair in Paris.
- Waiting for Dr. Kahnweiler?: Fans of Der Bergdoktor may feel as though they have stepped directly into the popular TV series. During filming periods, encounters with actor Mark Keller are not impossible, while guided excursions lead guests to original filming locations, including the famous doctor’s practice and the picturesque Gruberhof farmhouse overlooking Söll.
- Austrian Comfort Food, Delivered: Guests can enjoy authentic Austrian specialties wherever they feel most comfortable thanks to the signature “pot dishes” created by Executive Chef Peter Pitonak. Freshly prepared and ready to enjoy, they bring regional cuisine directly to the apartment.
- Wilder Kaiser or an American Lodge?: Flooded with natural light, characterised by generous open spaces, soaring ceilings and warm timber elements, the lobby blurs the line between an Alpine retreat and a contemporary American mountain lodge—always with nature just outside the window.
- Unlimited Possibilities: From A for Alpine flower wreath making and B for bread baking to Z for losing track of time during an Ecstatic Dance session, Kaiserlodge offers a programme that is as diverse, creative and inspiring as the people who stay there.
