Hotel Muchele

Beneath the warm sun of South Tyrol, the joyous Vinum Hotel Muchele near Merano is now offering more space for the same, exclusive number of guests. Because happily, there are only 42 suites here – but it’s all to the good. At Muchele, the magic all happens outdoors and accordingly, from this year onwards, cooking will also take place under the stars. The new outdoor kitchen, with Patrick Holzner at the helm, focuses on local quality products prepared with simplicity to delight the senses. A great secret tip for connoisseurs is a space at the Kuchltisch, at which you can enjoy a seven-course surprise menu in the heart of the kitchen.
Everything here works in the same way as a large, colourful living room in summer. The skilfully-planted garden terrace brings the indoors outdoors, while the consistent architecture is broken up by different levels and cosy niches. The new superstar is clearly the infinity pool, made from South Tyrolean natural stone, porphyry. Early morning swimmers can enjoy this saltwater pool, stretching 18 metres towards the mountains. But never fear: the indoor and outdoor pools stay heated to 33°C.
The new SPA bears the unmistakable signature of star designer Patricia Urquiola. Here, Anna Ganthaler provides pampering with her own natural skincare range and a concept store to delight women of all ages.
Hansjörg holds tasting sessions from the clay wine cellar twice a week, attended by his wine aficionado guests. It comes in handy, therefore, that his wife Franziska has her own small vineyard in the Marche.
The owners are as unique as the Muchele is unaffectedly designed. Martina and Priska run the house, constructed by their grandfather in 1952, with plenty of passion.
