South Tyrol

Nestled in the tranquil Val Ridanna valley, close to Vipiteno, you’ll find the Gassenhof, a four-star superior active and wellness hotel at an altitude of 1,350 metres. With a unique panoramic view across the impressive mountainscape of the Stubai Alps, the traditionalist yet still modern family business promises relaxation at the highest level. Brothers Manni and Stefan Volgger and their families offer their guests indulgence for all the senses and pamper them in this comfortable atmosphere of wellbeing. Charming, high-quality furnished rooms and suites are spread out across the main building, the Gassenloge lodge, and the exclusive “Gratznhäusl” chalet, a lovingly renovated farmhouse dating back to 1375, which stands at a distance of around 300 metres from the main building.
The Gassenhof has been delighting guests since 1974: formerly as a small family guesthouse, and today as a modern wellness hotel that has never forgotten its roots. This can also be seen reflected in the kitchen. The culinary side focuses on specialities of South Tyrolean cuisine, some of which are cooked according to granny's original recipes. The focal aspect for head chef Stefan Volgger, in the spirit of sustainability, is seasonality and local products.
The Gassenhof’s highlights include their own Gratznbrand-Schnäpse, the Gratznbräu beer, the Argintum gin and the home-brewed Mount Becher whiskey.
The Gassenloge, with its high glass fronts and unrestricted views across the whole valley, is perhaps the jewel in the Val Ridanna valley’s crown. This locale guarantees luxury. The associated Logen spa allows guests to swim lanes in the 20-metre-long outdoor infinity pool, bring their body and spirit into harmony in the yoga studio, relax with a massage or treatment, or round off the day in the steam bath and sauna. The Schnapsbrenner sauna offers a unique experience with an antique distillery, daily infusion ritual and a view on the Ridanna mountain panorama along with tasting sessions of the hotel's own schnapps.
The location of the Gassenhof in the heart of the South Tyrolean mountains also provides plenty of sports opportunities. The hotel offers daily guided walks, some of which start right at the front door. Manni Volgger personally leads a walk each week in his capacity as an experienced guide. The Val Ridanna also offers countless thrilling routes for cycling and climbing. A wide variety of mellow winter sports is available later in the year, including snowshoeing and winter hiking, free use of the cross-country ski trail with entry right at the hotel and slopes throughout the entire valley, or skiing and snowboarding in small, family-friendly ski areas. Always accompanied by a breathtaking view across the valley.
