Castello di Semivicoli
Castello di Semivicoli
The Castello di Semivicoli boutique hotel is nestled in the vineyards of the lofty Gran Sasso in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo. A picture-perfect setting. The Masciarelli family, which is mostly well known for its wine estates, fulfilled their dream with this hotel to express Abruzzo’s typical brand of hospitality. Gianni Masciarelli, the wine estate’s founder, bought the 17th-century building in the early 2000s as a surprise for his family, despite it needing some urgent TLC. After years of demanding but loving renovation, the building is a veritable jewel, chosen by people looking for peace and quiet and wine lovers alike. The ideal location for romantic weddings or special events. The eleven original, charming rooms have that cosy feeling which will make guests feel at ease from the get-go: a full immersion in the Italian Dolce Vita. The unique view stretches across the Apennines, the ocean, and the vineyards belonging to the Castello. Their vines yield a red and two white wines under the expertise of Marina Cvetic and her daughter Miriam Lee Masciarelli. Their Pecorino 2019 was awarded the top acknowledgement by the Gambero Rosso 2021.
